What is Ikigai?
If you are thinking what exactly is Ikigai? Well, it’s derived from two Japanese words Iki and Gai. Where Iki means life and Gai means the realization of hopes and expectations. In short, it means the reason to live. A sight of purpose in life overall feeling of happiness. Everybody has a reason to live and this is what the book says. Ikigai is already present in our body but the struggle is we need to find it by ourselves.
Do you know what are a lot of people struggling with? Apparently, it’s Ikigai or the reason to live. So Finding the Ikigai is supposed to bring meaning in your life and this book helps us to find that expensive Ikigai that is already present in our body.
Plot of the book: Ikigai
The book follows two people or authors who go to the village called Ogimi situated in Okinawa of Japan and this village also has been known as the village of longevity. This is because of the Island “Okinawa” always been knows for its centenarians.
This village has the highest number of centenarians all over the globe. What surprising is that these centenarians are healthy, happy, and active in their entire life. The purpose of the visit to Ogimi is to learn the secret of the native people’s longevity. They were welcomed there and they stay there for a week and during there stay there they try to learn the ways of the people and their lifestyles.
The aim of the book is to tell you the importance of Ikigai or reason to live in your life. Well, this book also tries to portraits the ways and lifestyle of native people of Ogimi and the thing that you can learn is to bring more meaning and purpose and of course longevity to your life.
Ikigai Book Review
The beginning of the book went well. It urged me to stick to this book and read further but in the midway, it was a bit uncertain and I was like losing interest because the authors kept looping one single topic long and long and this part was a little bit awkward for me but somehow I managed to keep my interest and continued. Keeping all these instances away the book is pretty good and worthy. Although the book is small and has only 208 pages but believe me it is full of rich content.
After reading this book, I can say that everybody has an Ikigai, Everybody has come down to the earth to fulfill the Ikigai that they wished for and this book just amplified the same thing “Find the very reason to live”
So yes, I recommend this to everyone but especially for those who don’t have an Ikigai in their life. Go read this book and grab the very reason to live!
How to get this book?
This book is available in four formats on Amazon. AudioCD, Audiobook, Kindle, and Hardcover. Above all I recommend you to read the kindle version of this book because it’s cheap and has easy access. Kindle edition is like a PDF version of the book Ikigai. Anyways I leave it to you. Buy it according to your need.
